Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf Zahir & Batin
It has been a long time since my last entry in this blog, nearly a month. There were a lot to blog about, but the time and place sometimes become the limits. It is still in Syawal. People are organising open-houses. I have a couple of invitations to fulfill.
Sekilas ketupat di nyiru, sudah ku tahu jantan betinanya... hehe...
This was the first Raya without abah around. We went back to Taiping a couple of days before Raya. My mother, as usual, will prepare ketupat palas and chicken rendang pedas. My sister together with my nephews and nieces helped their opah, who was passing down the art of making ketupat palas. Normally my father will do the other main dish, be it rice, mee, laksa or anything. So this time round, there were only ketupat and rendang (plus lemang bought a day before Raya) together with kuih raya and kerepeks available on the first hari raya. Nevertheless, we had laksa at my MakSu's house nearby. We just stayed at home.
Second raya, all of us, me and my brother's and sister's families, visited our uncles and aunties around. Third raya, there was kenduri doa selamat cum raya open house at MakSu's house. Fourth raya, families from my father's side came to visit us. Since Tok Wan (my grandfather) passed away, it has become a routine every raya to gather at my home, as my father was the eldest in his family. Alhamdulillah it continues even abah is no longer around.
Fifth raya, we went to Grik. Again had a kenduri doa selamat, with all food and delicacies were cooked using what's available around: fresly slaughtered goat, siput sedut, fresh water fishes, rebung, umbut pisang etc. There was also freshly picked duku and langsat from the nearby orchard. After lunch, many of us especially the kids jumped into the river right beside the house.
Aiman was so happy on the 'lake cruise', the fish pond located in the fruit orchard in Grik.
Then we went back Gombak and spent a few more days of break, visiting families and friends around KL. Now back to work, more time are spent in front of the PCs, chasing deadlines and organizing my workloads. Just reported for duty, I am still adjusting myself to get use to the systems.
Someone suggested to me to get an iPad... now I am thinking that it is an ideal gift for my birthday soon... hehe.. verangan...
