Que Sera Sera

Fauzan a.k.a. Andak dalam kenangan (1979-2010)

Last Friday, life was as usual. After Maghrib prayer, I was thinking of the plan I have for the weekend when my wife got a phone call from her friend. She started sobbing, and my mind straight away thought of our dear friend, who has been in the hospital for more than 4 months because of cancer. Yes, she was critical.

"Dah pi siap, kita balik KL," I told her to pack up her things and Aiman's, we were going back to KL that very night. A few moment later, just before Isya, the phone rang again and my wife burst into tears. We have lost one of our friend, Allah loves her more. We arrived in KL just before 12 midnight.

Early in that Saturday morning we went to Rawang, where her hometown is. Friends and relatives gathered to pay her their last visit. It was a sad and gloomy environment, totally different when we were there 5-6 years ago for their wedding. The jenazah was brought to the nearby mosque, prepared and prayed upon before being buried at a Muslim burial ground behind SK Garing, Rawang.

Picture: The imam delivering the 'Talkin' after the burial.

Faizi and Fauzan, are close friends of us since our first year in Kamsis Tun Dr Ismail (now Kolej Tun Syed Nasir), Titiwangsa. Both of them, together with my wife were medical students at that time. I became close to Faizi as we were in the same Minggu Suai Kenal committee for the kamsis. Furthermore, our rooms were in the same building, and we speak the same dialect (he is from Aloq Staq, Kedah). Fauzan and my wife were very close since they stayed in the same apartment since first year medical, until their housemanship in Taiping Hospital. They even have their own 'clan' where Fauzan was called 'andak' and my wife as 'uda', until now. Even though everybody was busy nowadays, we still keep in touch from time to time.

Both of them were blessed with three beautiful kids. The youngest is at Aiman's age, and the eldest is 5 or 6 years old. Looking at them during that day made my eyes water. They have no mother at such a young age. I could not imagine if one of us, me or my wife, die first, what will happen with Aiman...

As a servant of Allah, we will be called back to meet Him at any time, the time that Allah has already set. On the way back to Kuantan, I put on the oldies song on the cd player. This song reminds me of our recent lost and teach me a lesson; the future is not ours to see but we have to work hard for it.

When I was just a little girl
I asked my mother, what will I be
Will I be pretty, will I be rich
Here's what she said to me (1).

Que Sera, Sera,

Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be (2).

When I was young, I fell in love
I asked my sweetheart what lies ahead
Will we have rainbows, day after day
Here's what my sweetheart said (3).

Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be.

Now I have children of my own

They ask their mother, what will I be
Will I be handsome, will I be rich
I tell them tenderly (4).

Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be.

1.Definitely she was pretty and has a beautiful heart indeed.
2.We plan, and Allah plans. But Allah is the best planner.
3. To see a rainbow, first you must go through a rainy day.
4. Indeed, she has three beautiful kids, who she will never see them grow... May they remember their mother and never stop to pray for her.

May Allah showers the soul of Fauzan Mohd Hatta with blessings and place her among the righteous people in the paradise. Al-Fatihah.

Takpa, sekurang-kurangnya kita mengingati mati, sebab mati tak pernah lupakan kita...
